about your MIDWIVES
Wellington Obstetrics has a fantastic team of midwives who work alongside our Obstetricians to provide a full package of Obstetric care. Our 2 antenatal midwives excel at building rapport with women and their family members, supporting well-being and providing pregnancy, birth and postnatal education. If you have any pressing concerns between appointments our midwives are available to take your calls and provide timely advice. We also have specialised birthing midwives who provide supportive labour care alongside our Obstetricians, while our experienced and caring postnatal midwives will visit you at home after the birth of your baby.
We are a group practice and you will be cared for by both of the antenatal midwives over the course of your pregnancy and supported during delivery by one of our wonderful labour and birth midwives. Here is a bit more information about some of the team.
rhonda moore
- antenatal midwife
Rhonda has been a midwife since 2000 and has worked as an LMC in the community for the majority of her career with time also spent working in both Kenepuru Maternity Unit and Wellington birthing suite.
She joined Wellington Obstetrics in February 2024 and is loving her role as an antenatal midwife. Rhonda is passionate about maternity care and loves being part of your journey at this special time.
Outside of work she is a Mum to two amazing kids, loves the beach and gets in for as many beach swims as possible and she is mildly obsessed with growing as many dahlias as possible in her garden.
Hannah Wright
Hannah graduated in 2016 from Otago, where she grew up. Since then she has practiced as a midwife in both the hospital & the community. She joined Wellington Obstetrics in 2020 to provide labour & birth care for women within the practice.
Hannah encourages woman-focused care & will support you in whatever birth preferences you have. Her favourite thing about being a midwife is the moment parents meet their beautiful baby.
Hannah has a close relationship with all the obstetricians in our team & thoroughly enjoys working collaboratively with them.
In her spare time you will find her walking her two miniature dachshunds Luna & Daphne down at Oriental Parade or up the Brooklyn wind turbine. She enjoys baking & often provide baked goods for the crew on birthing suite.
Alice 0’dell
Alice works as an LMC in Wellington and also part time for Wellington Obstetrics providing postnatal and labour and birth care when needed.
She loves seeing and supporting families through this exciting/challenging time and ensuring you and your baby are safe throughout.
